Happy fashion week again everyone and… it’s Like Lillian’s 100th post! Yay! And for today’s special 100th post I am going to be talking about one of my favorite trends from this year’s fashion week so far: pleats! The reason that I love pleats this season is because it is a very sentimental trend to me and has taken over half of my closet for the majority of my childhood. I went to a private school until I reached high school, so my everyday outfit (except for casual Fridays) was either a plaid or navy pleated skirt with a polo and knee socks. So the pleat trend and I go way back. Anyway, this year designers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Thakoon created micro pleats to add movement and dimension to the dresses. This texture makes the dress more interesting that just a plain or printed dress. Other designers like Veronica Beard went with larger pleats which give her pieces a classic and more sophisticated feel.
Thank you to everyone who has ever read Like Lillian and I promise the next one hundred posts are going to be even more fabulous!
