I may restock my wardrobe with new winter clothes before every new school year, but there will always be those few pieces that have been able to survive the seasonal closet clean-out. I consider those vital pieces my frozen-desert island clothes for winter. Here are a few of my favorite winter essentials:
My Timberlands are my favorite boots to wear in the winter. They are fur-lined so they keep my feet warm. They are comfy, waterproof and I do not have to worry about them dirty. I like to wear them with hiking socks pulled slightly out of the top of the boots and paired with leggings or distressed denim.
My army green jeans have been well worn throughout fall, winter and as long as I can still fit into them, (hopefully I am done growing or else all of my pants will be capris) they will also be a favorite for spring. I like to wear them with either nude sandals in the warmer months or my black boots that hit just below the knee in the colder months. I like to wear a gray or neutral shirt to give the outfit a simple and tough look.
My favorite LBD for winter is my one and only Bebe dress which has a lace back. I don’t shop in Bebe that often because most of their clothes can be… well… a little out there. I bought this dress a few years ago for a middle school birthday party, with Bebe being a last resort store in the strip mall my mother and I went to. I love this dress because of the lace back that is continued onto the front of the dress which is very flattering to the waist. I like to pair this with black heeled sandals.
My Bordeaux long-sleeve shirt is the most comfortable and warm shirt that I own. It is a sweater-like material, but it is not very heavy. It has a relaxed fit and a flattering “hand-cut” neckline. I like to pair it with jeans and sneakers or boots. To accessorize it I usually layer simple pendant necklaces.
Cardigans are essential for winter because they can make tank tops and summer shirts appropriate and warmer. My favorite is from American Vintage and is unique because of the uneven lengths throughout the cardigan and delicate fabric. I wear this with all of my tank tops or sundresses that I want to winterize.
Now for accessories, I am in love with this hat. It is a ice cream cone hat from Neff. I would wear this with sweatpants or a ball gown, if I could.
And finally, my black Coach purse with gold hardware which I got for Christmas last year. I love this purse because it is the perfect size for me and I can wear it with anything.
